TKD
After leading the class in warm-ups we did some forms practice and rounded out the evening with some sparring. Felt great to be dueling again. :)

Tae Kwon Do
Did some good defense knife blocks, lots of punching and kicking. A little jump 'n roll 'n crescent kicks with stepping side kick and elbow strikes...

Tae Kwon Do!
My school is finally back up and running. It felt great to be hitting things again.
Pretty mild day all in all. The school has picked up some young'ins so we were hitting basics today.
I need to convince my barbie-princess-fairy-butterfly daughter to take TKD with me!

Clubbel warmup
16kg 1-arm swing, 40 reps right
1 minute easy jog
16kg 1-arm swing, 40 reps left
1 minute easy jog
16kg 1-arm swing, 40 reps right
1 minute easy jog
16kg 1-arm swing, 40 reps left
1 minute easy jog
16kg 1-arm swing, 40 reps right
1 minute easy jog
16kg 1-arm swing, 40 reps left
1 minute easy jog
Appx 13minutes of work.
40 reps! W00t! It was tough towards the end, but I did it.

TKD Tonight
Studied 1-steps, forms and self defense tonight. All in prep for belt test nest week.

TKD
Kick ass TKD work out today.
All the usual warmup, hundred or two situps, JJacks, deep squats, pushups.
Worked on forms for 1/2 the night and then spent some time on combos.
Finally we finished up with several rounds of full contact sparring.
I gave some and got some. I'm wiped.
The guys commented that I have A LOT of power and I will be a real threat when I get my form/technique dialed in.
I need to work on some VO2MAX conditioning so I can survive several minutes of fighting.
I also made a real effort to keep my mouth closed, so as to not present an easy loose jaw knock out.
Came home and ate 2 1/2 burgers, a bowl of zucchini and some terrific brown rice my wife made.
Life is great!

TKD, GU, and thoughts on which cert next....
First TKD work out in at least 2 weeks. And I feel it!
We did a lot of cool combo's. Punch, rev punch, backhand. Repeat.
Also worked on my one-steps, which I patently suck at. I dont know why I have such a hard time learning them. More practice.
got home and did 5 mins of Getups, which is part of the program minimum.
I will not do that again. My knee way tweaky from some RKC Hip flexor stretched on hardwood. Ouch!
I was weighing the decision on whether I should get my Z-Health R-phase first, or my RKC first.
I was definitely leaning towards Z, but in this post I heard from a lot of high powered folks who have both RKC and R,I,S,T Z-certs.
Needless to say I am going RKC baby!

Tae Kwon Do - Chinups
WAY sore from my HKC tuneup on Sunday, so no bells today.
Did some good kicking and hammer fist work today in class. Finished up with forms and 1-step sparring.
Truthfully, the 1-steps are the hard part for me. For some reason my brain has a hard time remembering these.
Came home and belted out some chin-ups. went and ate. Came back a did a few tactical pull-ups.
Time to relax now.

Rest Day
My New 1# and 2# clubbells came today. did a little work with them. As I suspected my low ceilings are a problem. I will probably use them at work and at Tae Kwon Do.
Speaking of TKD, I had to skip class today to watch the little...which is why today is a impromptu rest day.
I also got my Beyond Stretching Seminar DVD from ebay. I need to tear in to that too.

Tae Kwon Do and TGU Plus more
Pretty good TKD session today. A bit of bag work (which was a little rough on my elbow, but I survived.)
Came home and crank through 10 minutes of TGU's with a 25kg bell.
Then I tried to run the missus through a swing work out, but my daughter ruined that.
Oh well. I did manage to do 4 sets of 10 reps w/ the 40kg bell. The heavy bell is part of my training goals. To make the snatch test easier I am going to really focus on heavy swings for the next few months.

Tae Kwon Do, Turkish Getups
TKD tonight. did soem bag work. My R elbow is a bit enflamed. Hurt when I hit the bag. Time to back off on elbow hurting exercise.
Did 1 set (elft and right) of 32kg TGU. Seemed a bit unstable so I dropped down to 24kg for the final 4 sets.

Tae Kwon Do, Turkish Getups
Great TKD workout. Did a lot of floor work.
I fought hard but I need to work on shrimping. I know TGU can help with that, so I did a 10 minute set of 24kg TGU.
tossed in some Pull ups and some chin ups for good measure.
